Bohem: From Greek tradition to your beauty kit

Effective and high-performing, Bohem products embody modernity in body care… while being rooted in an ancestral tradition that is still very much alive today, symbolizing community, transparency, and authenticity for generations.

Bohem skincare products are inspired by traditional Greek beauty rituals passed down from generation to generation; particularly those where nature plays a central role. Grown on our family lands in the southern Peloponnese, our olive oil is the perfect example of these traditions.

A Versatile Remedy

Just like in all Greek families, olive oil is not just a culinary ingredient: it’s a true magic potion! It is used to treat all kinds of injuries, both for grown-ups and little ones, whether it’s a cut, a burn, an insect bite, or chapped skin. Something hurts? Grab the olive oil!

A 100% natural beauty ingredient

Because of its many benefits, olive oil is also a key part of the beauty routine of Greeks, especially women. Many concoct their own face, body, and hair products using ingredients found in their kitchens, such as milk, honey, and, of course, olive oil; for example, some use pure olive oil to moisturize their skin, or mix it with sea salt to create a natural exfoliant. But their true beauty secret is to celebrate their natural beauty in all its imperfections, without hiding the passage of time—a tradition that embodies the message of Bohem authenticity.

An opportunity to come together

The olive is at the heart of our village’s life. There are approximately 1,100 families, all of whom, without exception, own a small olive grove producing a few tons of olive oil, either for personal consumption or for commercial purposes. During harvest season, it’s non-negotiable: the entire community takes time off to help out, whether they’re civil servants, construction workers, or lawyers.

An ethical and circular approach

No wastewe use every last drop of olive oil! Back in the day, the residue at the bottom of the barrels was used to make Castile soap, a multi-purpose soap used to clean clothes, body, hair, and even dishes. Fun fact: today, Lolo uses the same Castile soap recipe, but with fresh olive oil.

Bohem is a skin and body care line, but it’s also the embodiment of the Mediterranean lifestyle in all its splendour. Close your eyes and imagine a large table where family and friends gather, decadent meals enjoyed in the shade of olive trees, coffee sipped on the terraces of the public square, a stop at the beach after school to enjoy the last hours of the day, children running barefoot in the courtyard until sunset… in short, a world where we take the time to enjoy every second and savour the present moment.
